All along the south coast of England, in every river, estuary, harbour & inlet top secret preparations were made in preparation for the Allied invasion of Europe on 6th June 1944, better known as D-Day.
I found this plaque close to the passenger ferry terminal at Gosport, opposite Portsmouth.
