This was my first overseas motorcycle tour.
Along with Dave Mayes and his girlfriend Alison, we went all the way to the south of France and back, included a bit of Italy and in total covered 2008 miles!
We went from Weymouth to Cherbourg on the SeaLink ferry and headed south. I had prepared a route, highlighted on a Michelin map, but no accommodation had been booked in advance.
I loved every moment & it’s fair to say I’m totally hooked on long distance touring, just what my BMW R100RT was built for.
