My 91 km cycle ride today is the second longest one day ride of the year so far.
I left home before 06:00, following a planned route mainly in Germany to the east of Heerlen.
Once through the already busy city of Aachen I riding through open countryside in glorious sunshine.
I encountered many large fields of green barley, destined to be used by local breweries.
Once I reached Julich I rode alongside the river Rur for about 15 km.
Today’s featured image is from the German village of Brachelen, about 60 km into the ride.
Another great day out on the bike and good preparation for longer upcoming tours.
