I left home before 06:00 this morning with the sole intention of capturing the sunrise.
We live on the southern edge of Heerlen, and the nearest open countryside is only 5 km away, over the border in Germany.
I found a nice location, looking eastwards towards the bright orange skyline, waiting for the sun to appear above the horizon.
It was so quiet, peaceful and a little eerie with low lying mist in the dawn light.
Today’s featured image, taken at 06:39, was near the German village of Horbach.
Having taken dozens of pictures I headed home in time for breakfast.
I cycled just under 14 km today.
Remembering Barry Hoban, one of my chidhood sporting heroes….
