Today’s cycle ride was a very local 6.7 km, taking in two more WW2 memorials.
On 22nd September, 1944 Weert was liberated from German occupation by 1st Battalion, The Suffolk Regiment.
Commemorating this is a small monument just to the north of the city bridge and another in Wilhelminasingel, close to the city hall.
