Outside temperatures were no more than 4c when I set off for my 40 km cycle ride this morning.

I wasn’t the only crazy cyclist out there today, dampened by light drizzle which turned to flurries of snow out in the south Limburg countryside.

My winter cycling gear worked well today, keeping me warm and dry, although muddy country lanes made sure me and the bike didn’t remain clean.

Of course I have a perfectly good spin bike to use for exercise in the warmth of the apartment but, honestly, nothing beats a proper outdoor cycle ride.

Whatever the weather there is still enjoyment to be had and I like the more challenging conditions sometimes.

Today’s featured image is the rather sad sight of a windswept vineyard near Termoors, minus it’s grapes long since harvested.
