Whilst on holiday at Puerto Portals in Mallorca I had the opportunity, on several days, so go sailing with Rai on his boat ‘Symphony of Rhu’.
I’d had a bit of experience, sailing a dinghy, in the Sea Scouts when I was young but this was the real thing!
Rai & his wife live in Garelochead in Scotland and the previous year had sailed their yacht all the way from Scotland to Mallorca.
After sailing down the west coast of the UK, they entered the inland waterways of France, the rivers and canals taking them all the way to the Mediterranean. They sailed when they could or motored with the mast lowered to get under bridges. What an adventure!
