When you look at the graphic on the left, what do you see?
A stylised bicycle? My initials (C J H)? Both, neither?
You’d be forgiven for thinking that creating a bicycle out of three initials would be a simple matter, I certainly did.
However, I was mistaken. What started as a doodle on a piece of paper took about four hours of manipulation in Photoshop before I arrived at the simple graphic you see here.
The thickness of the lines, the scale of each element and the gaps between them all required multiple adjustments.
I created about 75 versions of each element, manipulating them hundreds of times before I was completely happy.
Then I scaled it up & down as far as is practical, in a dozen different colours to see how it would look on my websites, blogs, galleries etc.
In case it’s not obvious, the letter ‘C’ became the back wheel, ‘H’ formed the frame, forks & seat-post and ‘J’ was rotated to form the handlebars.
