2024 was another great year on the bike(s), with a total of 4823 km cycled in 68 separate rides.
I’ve had ten multi-day tours, with overnight stops totalling 18 nights.
Severe winter weather in December prevented me from getting out at all on the bike, but I’m hopeful January will provide new opportunities.
My longest tour was 343 km, over 4 days to Vlaanderen and the greatest elevation gain was 2460 metres on the 2.5 day tour to the Eifel Mountains.
Halfway through the year I took my last ride on my eBike to Vijlen after 18 months of ownership during which I cycled 3859 km with it.
This proved to be a very informative experiment with an eBike and I feel sure I will have another someday, more suited to my style of cycle touring.
I’m spending these winter months plotting and planning cycle tours for 2025.
I have much to look forwards to, new routes, new adventures and I’m ready to go just as soon as the weather improves!
