September was a very modest cycling month for me.

This is mainly due to our ten day, non-cycling, Italian holiday right in the middle of the month.

There were two proper rides in September, plus two local Heerlen rides to and from the railway station.

The total distance cycled this month was 103.3 km.

My longest ride was 49.8 km to Suggerath and the greatest elevation gain was 337 metres on the same ride.

This month’s photographs can be found here and a summary of the rides is here.

Autumn has certainly arrived here in South Limburg but I’m determined this year to continue riding throughout the winter, except on the very coldest days.

I’ve invested in good winter cycling clothing and look forwards to the adventurous routes I’ve planned.
