So far this year I had only managed one modest cycle ride in each of the first three months.
There were various valid reasons for this but it was still a very disappointing start to my cycling year.
Fortunately this all changed in April.
This month I cycled 461 km in nine rides, including my first two day, 168 km ride into Belgium.
The longest one day ride was 59.4 km to the German village of Stahe and the greatest elevation gain was 432 metres on the 42 km ride to Vijlen.
Of course, the highlight of the month was my two day ride along Belgian canal banks, with a great overnight stop in Leopoldsburg.
I took over 300 photo’s this month which can be found here.
The summary of April’s rides can be found here.
Looking forwards to some big rides in May now that the weather is much more favourable.
