Glorious sunshine greeted me as I left home this morning, before 07:00, for a great 60 km cycle ride to the east of Heerlen.
My destination was Blausteinsee in Germany.
This is a man-made lake, created by sand extraction many years ago.
It’s now a beautiful leisure and water sports resort.
Because I arrived before 09:00 it was totally deserted and ideal for taking some nice pictures.
Today’s featured image is of the small boat pontoon at the resort.
My return home was shorter and quicker so I was home by 11:00.
This will be my last bike ride for a week or so as we fly to Sardinia tomorrow.
