My 27 km cycle ride today started a little later than normal due to rain showers this morning.
Not far from home I encountered what passes for a ‘hill’ in these parts, the long shallow climb over the A2 motorway at Schoor.
Normally this is no problem for me but today the freshening headwind made it feel as if I was riding with the brakes on.
I had planned on a ride of about 40 km this afternoon but as I continued on the back roads surrounding the village of Leveroy, the wind became so strong and gusting that I didn’t think it was very safe to continue, so I turned for home.
With the wind behind me it was like riding a motorcycle….zero effort & great speed!
