The cycle ride today was a 56 km loop to the north east of Heerlen.

It was actually a route I rode two months ago but in reverse, just for a change of scenery.

A small diversion was needed when I reached the river Worm near Nirm in Germany.

The wooden bridge I needed to use to cross the Worm was completely missing.

Workmen were on site preparing new concrete piers to support a new bridge.

As there was no signposted diversion I simply headed southwards on gravel tracks for about 2 km until I found another crossing.

Today‘s featured image is from a small rural chapel near the German village of Hoven.
