Today’s 60 km cycle ride was my longest so far this year, and also with the highest average speed of 16.9 km/h.
My overall average speed, since 2019, is 17 km/h, so I’m pleased to be able to maintain that.
However, I’m never in a hurry when I go cycling.
I think I ride at a good touring pace and I am forever stopping to take photographs.
Today’s ride was a loop to the north of Heerlen, almost entirely in Germany.
It was overcast with a little rain in the air when I left home, but eventually the sun made an appearance.
The featured image today is from the German hamlet of Stahe.
Returning home I passed the NATO air base at Geilenkirchen which always seems to be busy when I ride this way.
