My five cycle rides in May totalled 502 km, including a challenging 238 km ride to Wuppertal in Germany.

This represents the longest two day cycle ride I have ever done.

My route to Wuppertal was particularly challenging, especially the long, steep hills in the last 20 km of the first day.

The greatest elevation gain, 1405 metres, was on the same ride.

May saw much improved weather, sufficiently warm for shorts to be worn on most rides.

This month’s photographs can be found here and a summary of my rides is here.

I am certainly looking forwards to many more interesting and challenging rides in June.
