Today’s 94 km cycle ride followed the course of the river Maas for a while before turning southwards back towards Heerlen.

Today’s featured image is from a farm track near Oud Roosteren.

This is where I decided to ignore the GPS which resulted in a 4 km detour because the track simply came to a dead end.

A little later, near Posterholt, the skies darkened and threatened rain, heavy rain.

Fortunately I know the area a little and remembered a covered rest area nearby, where I sheltered for the duration of the heaviest rain storm I’ve been out in for a while.

Staying dry was important as I still had 40 km to go.

Ten minutes later the skies cleared and I continued my ride.
