Took a great 32 km cycle ride this morning, with an objective of capturing some lovely autumn colours.

My destination was Brunssummerheide, the nearest nature park just to the north of Heerlen.

Thankfully it was sunny for most of the ride and quite warm, despite the winds.

I’ve cycled through this area many times in the past 4 years and it’s always beautiful, always different, depending on the season/weather/direction of travel.

It’s fair to say that the landscape here is still predominantly green here, maybe another couple of weeks before the rich golden autumn colours emerge.

Today’s featured image is of one the small lakes in the middle of Brunssummerheide.
