This is the second month in succession when extreme weather discouraged me from any outdoor cycling.

Instead I used my indoor spinning bike on 14 occasions totalling 466 km.

Each session was precisely one hour plus a five minute warm up prior to recording the exercise session.

The longest distance covered in one hour was 35.4 km.

My maximum calorie burn over 60 minutes was exactly 600k/cal.

The same session saw my maximum heartbeat reach 149 bpm and my average heartbeat was 140 bpm over the hour.

This was by far the toughest spinning bike session  since I acquired it in early November but I felt I was exercising well within my personal capabilities.

With milder weather on the horizon I’m very much looking forwards to some proper outdoor cycling and I’m hoping the spinning exercise sessions give me sufficient fitness for some longer winter rides.
