Today’s 92 km cycle ride was a loop through Germany, to the east of Heerlen.

I left home around 07:00 because the weather forecast was for warm sunshine and high temperatures later in the day.

This is a route I have used before, two years ago but in the opposite direction.

Today is a public holiday both in Germany and the Netherlands so right from the start of my ride there were many more cyclists out enjoying the day.

Around 12 km of the ride was along the gravel track beside the river Rur between Duren and Schophoven.

Today’s featured image is of the Rur near to the German village of Krauthausen.

Another great day out on the bike!
