The Wednesday cycle ride was to the south and west of Heerlen.

The 44 km loop was through some of the most scenic areas of South Limburg as well as being along some of the most hilly and challenging roads.

It was grey and overcast this morning, with light drizzle in places but this fabulous cycling area loses none of it’s beauty, which I’ve tried to capture with today’s photographs.

Today’s featured image is from the Dutch village of Epen, around 25 km into the ride.

The entire ride today took less than three hours but was still as interesting and enjoyable as some of my far longer rides.
