Today’s 106 km cycle ride was a nice loop to the north and east of Heerlen into the German countryside once again.

I left home just as the sun was rising, which helped create some interesting pictures.

It was warm, dry and very windy.

The following wind, force 4, was behind me for most of the outward leg which made the ride so easy.

Unfortunately the same wind was in my face all the way home.

This made progress difficult even with a little eBike assistance.

Today’s featured image was taken in a dark forest near the German town of Widenrath, about 57 km into the ride.
