Today’s 74 km cycle ride was a nice loop to the north and east of Heerlen, mainly on German country roads.
This is the longest ride so far this year as I steadily increase the kilometres in preparation for my upcoming 7 day tour.
I’ve been unable to cycle for the past nine days due to a heavy cold so today’s ride was most welcome.
After an hour or so the warming sunshine appeared and stayed with me for the rest of the ride.
Less welcome was the strong headwind on the return home.

I have passed through this area many times on my bike, but it’s always interesting, always different.
