Yesterday’s cycle ride was the longest so far, 74.4 km.

Leaving quite early I arrived at Neer for the ferry south across the river Maas about 15 minutes before it started (1000hrs). Plenty of river traffic to see including a couple of WW2 patrol boats.

I then rode through Beesel, saw the famous windmill & giant dragon. Apparently the whole town celebrates St George slaying the dragon every seven years.

Onwards towards Kessel, but needed another, larger, ferry back across the river & paused for a while to watch the world go by.

A group of old military vehicles boarded the ferry & I later discovered them parked up at Kessel.

Also on the banks of the Maas were two WW2 Liberation Route markers.

All in all, a very interesting day out.
