November is the first month that I have ever completed two, two day cycle rides.

In fact, these two rides, totalling 266 km, were actually completed in the same week.

On 9th-10th I cycled 115 km to Meinweg and 14th-15th I cycled 151 km to Weywertz.

Despite my best efforts these were the only two rides I managed to complete this month , largely due to weather patterns conspiring against me.

Beyond doubt is the fact that two day rides are enabling me to explore new areas that would otherwise be out of reach on a one day ride.

It also gives me a chance to discover new overnight stops, and sample new beers!

Generally the cycling day is shorter at this time of year, due to less daylight hours and lower temperatures, making shorter, one day rides much less appealing.

When I’m not actually out on the bike I spend much time planning routes, always seeking previously unknown areas to explore.

Until the spring weather arrives I’ll continue following weather forecasts and get out as often as I can without getting freezing cold or soaking wet!
